International Training in Braga, Portugal
In January 2026, as part of the Erasmus+ project “CYBER: Conscious Youth Behaviors in emerging realities,” a four-day international joint staff training event was held in Braga, Portugal, bringing together teachers and project coordinators from Greece, Portugal, Italy, Romania, and Slovakia. The activity was designed as an intensive, practice-oriented experience, supporting the project’s work on strengthening educators’ capacity to address digital risks and online behaviors in meaningful, age-appropriate ways, while also promoting the social and emotional skills young people need to navigate emerging online realities.
This four-day, on-site training activity was a key step of WP4 (Pilot Training and Certification) and aimed to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical and facilitation competences in relation to digital risks, online behaviors, and the development of social and emotional skills among students. At the same time, it supported the practical testing and adaptation of the project’s educational resources, preparing them for effective implementation in different school contexts.
During the training, teachers engaged in hands-on non-formal learning activities and educational games, exploring realistic scenarios linked to cyber risks and responsible online behaviour. The focus was placed on practical delivery, guided reflection, and the transferability of methods across national and institutional settings, ensuring that the project’s tools can be applied and adjusted to diverse school environments.
The activity concluded with a school-based pilot implementation at Escola Secundária Alberto Sampaio, where more than 30 students actively participated in structured sessions and discussions, including topics such as cyberbullying and responsible digital behaviour. Their engagement and feedback provided valuable input for the refinement of the project’s tools and the preparation of upcoming national pilots.
